Sunscreens that won’t cause your face to rebel

I am a nut about protecting my skin with sunscreen, but I also like sitting in the sun and since I’m a total sweater (sweat-er??), I need to use water and sweat-proof sunscreen as one of my biggest pet peeves in life is having to reapply sunscreen often on hot skin and in the sun!

A couple of creams , having NOT sweated in them, but having worn them on sunny days in the snowy mountains and got nary a lick of sun are: Clinique’s Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer and La Prairie’s Anti-Aging Day Cream SPF 30.

I wouldn’t be so bold to wear the above creams while doing sports or if I’m planning to sunbathe near water- I’m dreaming of the Indian Ocean as I write this (!)- so instead I wear Neutrogena Ultra Sheer, which is water-resistant, and have found that I can slather it on with no risk of zits!

If you tend to break out, you’ll want to look for sunscreens that are noncomedogenic (won’t clog pores), fragrance free, paraben free (no preservatives), and PABA free (no para-aminobenzoic acid). I recommended the above Neutrogena sunscreen as it’s easy to find at most if not all pharmacies and it’s SPF 30, which is what I prefer as I do want to get a bit of a tan during the summer or on holiday!

While I haven’t tried most of the sunscreens mentioned in this article, please click here, you may be interested to learn of more options.

    • I’m hoping your query isn’t spam as most of the comments that I received apparently went into the spam folder…I could write more about sunscreens that don’t cause acne, but I would need to experience them myself since I have really sensitive skin only with regard to breaking out from sun products! Will keep you posted.

      Kind regards,
